Hello world!

Momentary afflictions build in us an even greater weight of glory in our lives. This “affliction” builds character. I’ve had a lot of “character building” over the last few years. Most of it seemed tragic and unwarranted, but now I know it was necessary. I can look back and realize that it all turns out for the good, because I am in covenant with the one true God. He knows how to mold me and shape me into what I need to be, so I may be fit for His use. The trials we must face are so temporary, when you consider the “big picture”.
My husband was given notice yesterday (on his birthday), that his work is downsizing. There are 2 managers under the main manager and they are merging the 2 manager’s positions into one position. He has to interview for his job all over again. He has been with this company for 8 years, at this location for 1 year.
For the past year since we moved to Tennessee (from Minnesota), my husband, my five year old daughter and I have been “camping”. Or at least that is what I like to call it. We lived with relatives (because we needed to sell our home in MN) for 8 long months (all of us in the smallest bedroom). We have our own place now, a really small apartment (because our house has not sold yet in MN). We are grateful for what we have, but living out of boxes, sleeping on air mattresses and having most of your belongings in a storage unit can be difficult.
We moved here because we knew the Lord wanted us to. Many things have come against us during this process. Our conclusion is God knows better than us. We are still happy to be here in TN and know it is God’s will. The “bigger picture” will be revealed soon…

Melissa,
I like the new look. I look forward to all that you and Jeremy share on your sites in the days, weeks and years to come. You have a lot to offer this world for the sake of Christ.

Hey Melissa! I’m glad to see you’ve joined the world of bloggers. (I’m still new at it myself.) Love the picture and look forward to reading more soon.
Thanks for the encouragement, guys! I hope I can keep it interesting. This is a great way to talk, and I guess if someone listens, it’s even better!
